Terms &
conditions.

The agreement between you and Prime Parade Ltd when you buy from Prime Book Shop. Written in plain English, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.

1. Who we are

Prime Book Shop is operated by Prime Parade Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number [COMPANY NUMBER], with its registered office at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. VAT number: [VAT NUMBER, or delete this line]. You can reach us at sales@primebookshop.com.

By placing an order through this website you accept these terms. Please read them before you buy — they set out your rights as well as ours.

2. The contract between us

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation email — not when you receive the order acknowledgement, and not when payment is taken.

We may decline an order if the item is out of stock, if it was listed at an obviously incorrect price, if we cannot verify payment or delivery details, or if we reasonably suspect fraud. Where we decline, we refund any payment taken in full.

3. Prices and payment

  • Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include UK VAT where applicable.
  • Delivery charges are added at checkout and shown before you pay.
  • Prices can change at any time, but never after your order is confirmed.
  • If a book is listed at a clearly wrong price, we will contact you before dispatch and you may confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
  • Payment is taken at checkout. Card details are handled by our payment provider over an encrypted connection and are never stored on our servers.

4. Delivery

Delivery timings, costs and destinations are set out on our shipping page, which forms part of these terms. Estimates are estimates, not guarantees; we are not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs or events outside our reasonable control.

Risk passes to you on delivery. Orders shipped outside the UK may attract import duty or local tax, which is payable by you.

5. Cancellation and returns

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you may cancel a UK online order within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason. Our own policy extends this to 30 days for unread books in original condition — see the returns page for the full process, exclusions and who pays postage.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

6. Stock and availability

Stock levels shown on the site are indicative and can change between your order and our picking it. If a title turns out to be unavailable we will tell you promptly and refund that item in full, or hold your order at your request until it is back in.

Product images are representative. Publishers change cover art between print runs, so the copy you receive may carry a different cover to the one pictured; format, edition and ISBN will always match the listing.

7. Your account

You do not need an account to order. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity carried out under it. Tell us immediately if you believe it has been compromised. We may suspend or close an account that is used in breach of these terms.

8. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the site for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system.
  • Do not scrape, mirror or systematically extract the catalogue, descriptions or images.
  • Do not submit reviews or content that is false, defamatory, offensive or infringes someone else's rights. We may remove any submission at our discretion.

9. Intellectual property

The site design, layout, logo, original book descriptions and photography are owned by Prime Parade Ltd and protected by copyright. Cover artwork, titles and author names remain the property of their respective publishers and rights holders and are used to identify the products we sell. You may print or download extracts for your own personal use; any other reuse requires our written permission.

10. Our liability

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, nor for business losses — these terms cover consumer sales only.

We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where liability can be limited, it is limited to the value of the affected order.

We take care to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may suspend it for maintenance or changes.

11. Privacy and data

We process your personal data in line with our privacy policy, which explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and the rights you have under UK GDPR.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you place an order is the version that applies to that order, so changes made afterwards do not affect purchases already made.

13. Governing law and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.

If something has gone wrong, email sales@primebookshop.com first — we acknowledge complaints within one working day and aim to resolve them within five.
