What happens next.
Order confirmed
A confirmation email lands within minutes, listing every title and the delivery address. Check it now — addresses are easy to fix before dispatch and impossible after.
Picked and packed
Your books are pulled, checked for condition and packed board-backed with corner protection. Gift orders are wrapped at this stage and the invoice left out.
Dispatched within 48 hours
You receive a dispatch email with a tracking link. Working days only — orders placed Friday afternoon leave us Monday or Tuesday.
Delivered
If nobody is in, the carrier leaves a card or delivers to a neighbour or safe place. Nothing after seven working days past the estimate? Email us and we will chase it.
The small print
Worth knowing.
Customs, duty and import tax
Orders travelling outside the UK may attract import duty, VAT or a handling fee charged by the destination country. These are set by your government, payable by you on delivery, and we have no way to calculate or absorb them. A refused parcel returns to us minus the outbound carriage.
Pre-orders and mixed baskets
If your basket contains a pre-order title, the whole order ships together when that title publishes. Need the in-stock books sooner? Place two orders.
Incorrect addresses
We ship to the address entered at checkout. If it is wrong and the parcel comes back to us, we will resend it once you cover the second delivery charge. Tell us fast — before dispatch, a correction costs nothing.
Missing or delayed parcels
UK parcels are treated as lost after 10 working days past the estimate, international after 25. At that point we replace or refund in full. Before then, tracking usually resolves it.
Packaging
Cardboard, paper tape and recycled void fill — no plastic wrap, no polystyrene. Everything in the box can go straight into household recycling.
